Redundancy and Career Development
Guidance isn’t just for young people or the unemployed. Research shows that most of us make 3 significant career changes during our working lives and sometimes we need a bit of help making those all important decisions.
We have extensive experience of dealing with adults who need to retrain, those facing career changes, redundancy, or workforce reform. We can go into the workplace to meet with staff and help them plan their professional development, either within the existing organisation or moving on at the end of a contract.
All our advisers are professionally qualified in careers guidance, regularly undertake training to update their knowledge and skills and are actively involved in continuous professional development of the service. This means that they understand the local labour market and know how to access a huge network of support services, courses or training opportunities. They can even help people to find funding to cover the costs of further learning.
We have a proven track record of supporting people moving into alternative opportunities and we work with them to ensure that they feel confident about moving forward. We can build into the programme some on-going support for your staff, with access to their advice over the phone or email for up to 3 months after the programme ends. This helps to ensure they can put into action the plans that were discussed, or make changes to their plans if something changes.
