TIGeR – Teachers’ Information & Guidance e-Resource

www.tiger-nw.org.uk

TIGeR is a website designed to help teachers, college tutors, work-based learning tutors and Connexions Personal Advisers to give advice to young people about Higher Education (HE).

It is aimed at practitioners who do not necessarily have a formal advice and guidance role but may be asked questions, by young people, about university (e.g. subject teachers or form tutors).

The website contains key information covering topics such as Applying to HE, Student Finance, Detailed Subject Information, Case Studies and Useful Resources including lesson plans for teachers.

TIGeR is regularly updated, allowing fast, free and easy access for practitioners to obtain bite-sized information items.

Free TIGeR Training Sessions are available for eligible groups of teachers to help make best use of the site and its facilities; use the Contact Us page within the  www.tiger-nw.org.uk  site to submit requests.

The website also promotes Connexions and encourages teachers to refer young people to their school Connexions Adviser.
