Access for all in Sefton
The Crosby Connexions Team, based at Burlington House in Waterloo has developed a new access strategy to enable young people to have easier contact with Connexions Personal Advisers in Crosby, Maghull, Ince Blundell, Waterloo, and Thornton areas of Sefton.
For a number of years the team worked out of Bootle Connexions Centre as its key delivery site for engaging with clients out of school, although this meant it was difficult for young people to see Personal Advisers in their local area.
A partnership with Job Centre Plus in Waterloo means that more young people are accessing the service and more recently, Sefton Library Services was delighted to join up with Connexions to offer a tailor made service through two libraries, in Maghull and Crosby.
The service has proved a huge success with young people who are pleased to see Personal Advisers at a base in their own community. Team Manager Rob Piper commented, "Young people don't always want to take a bus to visit a Connexions Centre, and our strong partnerships in Sefton have allowed us to offer those services right at the heart of the community where young people need them most".
