Working Overseas
Many people fancy working abroad. Some just want to work overseas for a short while to experience a new culture. This might be done on a short term contract e.g. as a holiday job; as part of a GAP year from education; or as a volunteer.
However, you may want to wave ‘goodbye’ to Merseyside and, indeed, the rest of the UK for good.
Whichever of the above two descriptions fits you best, the place to start your investigations of course is careerseurope. Don’t be fooled by the name as the site has information on studying and working throughout the world.
After looking there if you need more detailed information try ‘Exodus’, Careers Europe’s International Careers Information Database. Access to this database is available in all Greater Merseyside Connexions centres and will soon be accessible via this website.
Our centres also have many books available for you to consult on getting summer jobs abroad (and in the UK); volunteering opportunities at home and abroad; and about emigrating to a new life.
